Park Ju Seok

Professor, Myongji University

Professor at Myongji University Graduate School of Record and Information Science, researching photography and photographic records. Also serves as the director of the Korean Photography Research Institute at Myongji University. In 2006, he served as the director of the Daegu Photo Biennale and curated numerous exhibitions related to photography. He has authored works such as Park Ju Seok's Photo Stories and translated works like The Body in Photography. He has published numerous major papers, including First Encounter with Photography - Discovery of the Photographs of Sa Iyi's Entourage in 1863.

Suejin Shin

She is a cognitive scientist specializing in photography and works at the Yonsei University Institute of Cognitive Science. She pioneered a unique field by integrating visual psychology and photographic theory, exploring the fusion of science and art. Engaging in foundational research analyzing photographic images using psychological research methods, she supervises applied areas such as exhibition planning, publishing, photography education, and artist support. Currently, she holds positions such as Exhibition Advisory Committee Member at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Creative Director at Hanjin Group's Ilwoo Foundation, Creative Director at Imprima Korea Image Copyright, Advisory Committee Member for Exhibition Planning at the ASEAN-Korea Centre, Public Relations Advisor for the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family, and Director at Ryu Hwa-rang Gallery. She also contributes columns to newspapers such as Chosun Ilbo (Suejin Shin's Reading of Photography), Central Sunday (Opinion Column), The Economist (Technique of Perspective), and Monthly VON.

She has authored books such as Reading Photographs with the Mind (2013), Photographs: Opening the Century of Light (2009), and Photographs: Reading or Viewing (2006). She has also curated over 40 exhibitions domestically and internationally, including On the Line: Beyond Boundaries (2010), Masters of 20th Century Photography (2009), Floating Space (2008), and Mirror Myth (2007).

Choi Eun-joo

Director of Academic Research Division 1, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art

She graduated from the Department of Western Painting at Seoul National University's College of Fine Arts. In 1989, she obtained a master's degree in art theory from Dongguk University, and in 2008, she completed the doctoral program in art education. Since 1989, she has worked as a researcher and senior researcher at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art. She served as the director of the Deoksugung Art Museum from 1999 to 2009 and has been in the position of Director of Academic Research Division 1 since 2012.
Her major curated exhibitions include the 1995 Artist of the Year Jeon Soo-chun Exhibition, the 2005 Asia Cubism Exhibition, the 2010 Asia Realism Exhibition, the 2010 Yonggwang Nuclear Power Plant Art Project: Kim Soo-ja's Weather Index, and the 2013 opening exhibition Connect_Unfold at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul.

François Hébel

Director, Arles International Photo Festival

He served as the director of the Arles International Photo Festival from 1986-87 and again from 2002 to 2014.
In the meantime, he led Magnum Photos agency and was in charge of Corbis's European branch.
