Introduction to the Foundation
Since its establishment in 1991, the Ilwoo Foundation has been operating a domestic scholarship program that pays scholarships every year so that excellent youth head-of-household students can devote themselves to studying. From 1998, it has been operating an overseas scholarship program that selects scholarship students from underdeveloped countries and sends them to study abroad at Inha University, Aviation University, Hallym University, and Ewha Womans University, supporting not only tuition fees but also full living expenses. In particular, the selection of scholarship students in Mongolia is playing a big role in promoting friendship and goodwill between Korea and Mongolia by training high-level talents desperately needed for the development of Mongolia, and has expanded the target countries to Cambodia and Uzbekistan.
Especially, the Ilwoo Foundation established the 'Ilwoo Photo Prize' in 2009 to become a stepping stone for promising photographers with international competitiveness who have not yet seen the light despite their outstanding talent and passion, in order to meet the public's demand for and the demands of the times for arts and culture. From April 2010, it has been actively developing cultural and artistic support projects, such as high-level exhibition projects through 'Ilwoo Space', a free exhibition space for the public, which was opened in the lobby of the Seosomun Korean Air Building.
The Ilwoo Foundation practices the chairman's theory of the Hanjin Group that 'the transport of people and goods and cultural exchange are not different but are in the same vein', and aims to contribute to the development and promotion of domestic cultural industries by actively deploying social contribution activities through cultural and artistic promotion projects and scholarship projects to repay the support and love of the people, while practicing the social responsibility of the company. .
